Story of Sofiia and her son Mark from Kramatorsk
“Go out and cry… so that the child doesn’t see your tears. You must pull yourself together.” The story of Sofiia and her son Mark
Sofiia had a happy life in Kramatorsk, where she self-realized creatively and professionally as a manicurist, rejoicing in the new achievements of her five children. Together they planned their future. But with the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the family was forced to leave everything behind and move to a safer place.
Already in the new town in the Dnipro region, Sofiia’s youngest son’s health deteriorated sharply. Doctors diagnosed him with cancer (nephroblastoma). Watch the video here to learn how doctors in Lviv saved Mark, how Sofiia’s children lived alone while she and Mark fought for their lives, and what the family dreams of now.
