Barrier-Free Safety for People with Disabilities
Our mission is to provide support to people with disabilities during times of war and displacement in Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, and Germany.
The project focuses on implementing various activities to offer psychosocial support to internally displaced persons and refugees with disabilities from Ukraine and Armenia, who either stayed in their home country or fled to Germany or Georgia. Through art therapy, self-help groups, and informative sessions, we aim to provide a nurturing environment for people with disabilities during times of war and displacement.
Furthermore, we are dedicated to breaking down infrastructure barriers in arrival and accommodation facilities for displaced people in Ukraine, ensuring improved accessibility for people with disabilities. In partnership with Fight for Right, our partner organization in Ukraine, we provide mini-grants to these facilities, fostering inclusivity and equal opportunities for all. Besides that we organize training sessions for staff members on inclusive care for internally displaced persons with disabilities.
We are also committed to amplifying the visibility of individuals with disabilities in situations of war and displacement. To achieve this, we produce and share video clips portraying the stories of people with disabilities from Ukraine who are seeking refuge from war and violence. These clips will shed light on their vulnerable journeys and raise awareness about the unique challenges they encounter. Together with the clips we will also launch an awareness-raising campaign on media visibility of refugees with disabilities.
This project aims to empower and support people with disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being during times of crisis.
